What We Do

Jimmy’s aims to get people from the street floor to their own front door.

Our Services

Jimmy’s aims to get people from the street floor to their own front door. We provide initial emergency accommodation, longer term homes, specialised help and a full range of support to anyone experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We also undertake community outreach about our work to tackle homelessness.

Emergency accomodation

Our 24/7 centre on East Road provides 20 private, en-suite bedrooms for emergency accommodation with resettlement planning, support and day time activities.

Longer term homes

Jimmy’s manages a number of shared houses across the city and more recently has been part of a pioneering project to offer single person modular homes.

Our first 6 modular homes were launched in June 2020, another 5 in December 2020 and more are planned for 2021

Controlled drinking project

We manage a 6 bed residential centre supporting alcohol-dependent individuals to reduce drinking and improve health.

Wrap around support

Jimmy’s provides a range of support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness – whether or not they are in our accommodation. Our expert staff offer a range of support, including mental health, applying for benefits, health advice, practical life skills and much more.

Community engagement

We engage with a wide range of organisations across Cambridge that are vital to our work. We also undertake outreach activities to raise awareness of homelessness and our work to reduce it.

Our Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of Jimmy’s and the work we do. We rely on their kindness, commitment and empathy to provide the best possible service to our guests. In return, we maintain a safe, supportive environment ensuring they get the most out of their time spent with us and feel truly valued for their role in the Jimmy’s community. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Ros or call 01223 576085.

Our Partners

Our partners are critical to everything that Jimmy’s does. We partner with organisations that provide large scale funding (such as the City and County Councils) and those who we work with on major projects (such as Allia, New Meaning and Hill Group).

Many more organisations and individuals support Jimmy’s through donations and other types of support. We are are incredibly grateful for the generosity and commitment of our partners and supporters – they ensure Jimmy’s can have a positive impact on people experiencing homeless across Cambridge.
