People can find themselves homeless for any number of reasons – whether it be losing a job, escaping domestic abuse, mental ill health or addiction.
Jimmy’s is here 24/7 for anyone who finds themselves homeless and in need of support.
It is only due to the continued generosity of our supporters that we can provide vital, life-changing support to help people in their journey through homelessness.
Jimmy's is my home from home. A place where I can get back on my feet
I was doing all right, then the finances started running out. I had gone from £470 a week to £70 a week in a period of months. I found myself homeless. Once you've fallen in that rut, it's extremely difficult. But it's better now. Jimmy's is my leg up. Just the fact that I have a roof over my head and meals every day, that helps your future.
Once I moved into Jimmy's I could get in touch with the benefitssystem and apply for housing. Jimmy's helped me get my photo ID and bank accounts. Without Jimmy's I'd still be walking the street in a mess, probably. Homelessness can happen to anyone. People are judgemental, I am. It is human nature. Now I understand a bit more. I can see the bigger picture because I've been there.
