I joined Jimmy’s in November 2018 as part of the Housing Support Team, bringing with me several years of experience from my previous role with Inclusion Drug Service as a substance misuse outreach worker. In that role, I regularly attended Jimmy’s twice a week to support individuals through the drop-in service, which first introduced me to the charity’s work.
At Jimmy’s, my first position was as a Housing Support Worker, working alongside three colleagues to support up to 12 residents across nine properties. I also took on a specialist focus in drug and alcohol support, drawing on my professional background in substance misuse.
After three years, I progressed to the role of Senior Support Worker, managing a small team of two. During this time, I continued to specialise in substance misuse while also developing my knowledge and skills in housing law.
In May 2024, I was appointed Housing Team Leader. I now manage a team of four Housing Support Workers, collectively supporting up to 47 residents when we are at full housing capacity.
