On 17 September, Jimmy’s Cambridge brought together local businesses, Cambridge City Council teams, and homelessness charities for a pivotal roundtable at Cambridge Central Library.
Our aim
To turn shared concerns into collaborative action on rough sleeping and homelessness in Cambridge.
Key Highlights
-
Chaired by Cat Strawbridge, the discussion explored the urgent rise in homelessness.
-
Attendees shared insights on the complex causes: trauma, mental health challenges, rising cost of living, and lack of affordable housing.
-
The roundtable created a space for open dialogue, partnership, and practical solutions.
-
Together, we identified both short-term support and long-term strategies to build a future where everyone has a safe, secure home.
It was a valuable opportunity to hear everyone’s concerns and challenges, gain a clearer understanding of the roles of different services and organisations, and recognise the need for practical solutions that support the whole community.
This open dialogue created space for understanding, partnership, and the development of both short and long-term solutions, including practical resources and guidance. By working together, we can move towards a future where everyone in Cambridge has the security of a home.
