A yellow heat-health alert is now in effect across the East of England – including Cambridge – from 10 AM on 9 July to 10 AM on 15 July.
As temperatures rise, so do health risks – especially for those sleeping rough or living in insecure housing.
At Jimmy’s Cambridge, we’re stepping up emergency outreach to protect the most vulnerable in our community. But we can’t do it without your help.
🌡️ What This Heat Alert Means
High temperatures can be life-threatening. While most of us can turn on a fan or find a cool spot, many people have no safe place to go.
For someone on the streets, this heat can lead to:
-
Severe dehydration
-
Heatstroke
-
Sunburn and long-term skin damage
-
Delayed access to medical help
This isn’t just uncomfortable – it’s dangerous. And it can be fatal.
