Celebrating 30 Years of Jimmy’s Cambridge

On Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, Jimmy’s Cambridge proudly marked a significant milestone — 30 years of dedicated service supporting people experiencing homelessness across the city of Cambridge. The special anniversary event was held at the prestigious Emmanuel College in the heart of Cambridge city centre and brought together local organisations, businesses, partners, and community members committed to tackling homelessness.

A Meaningful Morning of Reflection, Learning, and Networking

From 9 am to noon, guests gathered to share tea, coffee, and light refreshments, engaging in heartfelt conversations and forging stronger connections. The event showcased Jimmy’s journey — from its origins in 1995 to its current impactful work supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, along with our ambitious vision for the future of homelessness services in Cambridge.

Inspiring Speakers Highlight the Reality and Hope Behind Homelessness

Keynote speeches by Jimmy’s CEO Natasha Davies, trustee Elwin Chan, and Mrs Caroline Bewes, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, provided powerful insights into the realities faced by people experiencing homelessness. Natasha Davies delivered a heartfelt speech emphasising both the challenges and hope driving Jimmy’s mission. Elwin Chan shared moving stories from lived experience, illustrating how community compassion can transform lives.

And because we love to give back to those who support us, the event also featured contributions from vital partners, including  Sustainable Tech 4 Good, The Cambridge Building Society and Mittfit.

Engagement and Celebration

The networking session that followed allowed attendees to deepen connections, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for partnership and collective impact. Guests also participated in a raffle featuring fantastic prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters.

A Community United for Change

Reflecting on the event, many expressed how uplifting it was to be surrounded by so many people aligned in purpose and passion. From community fundraisers to local councillors and corporate partners, the spirit of collaboration shone brightly.
