At Jimmy’s, we know real recovery doesn’t end the day someone gets the keys to their own place. For people who’ve experienced homelessness, especially those facing complex challenges like mental health issues and substance use, the transition to independent living can feel like falling off a cliff from a support perspective. That’s where Project Bridge comes in.
Project Bridge is about connection—a gentle, supported step-down, not a sudden cut-off. It’s about making sure people don’t just move out, but move on – successfully.
Thanks to our experienced and dedicated team, we are able to provide this extension of our in house support so that, even after residents leave, the team continues to check in and keep the connection going. We know these simple acts of community can make the difference between slipping back and staying strong.
Whether it’s help with housing paperwork, navigating benefits, getting into a dentist’s chair, or just having someone to talk to over coffee—it matters. Other ways we keep in touch are by providing regular meet-ups, shared meals, and inviting ex-residents to take part in social events and trips.
The impact? It’s clear. Former residents are less isolated, more confident, and far more likely to stay in their homes, integrate into their communities and keep moving forward.
People don’t stop needing support when they leave Jimmy’s—and we don’t stop caring. With your help, Project Bridge can keep that door open, giving people the best possible chance at lasting independence.
If you want to help keep this line of support open you can donate to help Jimmy’s today.
One resident who recently moved on left a note for the team:
“I thank you for everything. Please don’t worry about me, I’m all good. Best wishes to everyone. PS: I’ll be over Sunday for the roast!!”
That little PS? That’s Project Bridge in action—ongoing connection, trust, and a sense of belonging.
Your donation helps make that possible. Let’s make sure no one feels like they’ve been left behind. Let’s build that bridge, together.
