Jimmy’s Cambridge Shortlisted for Prestigious Innovator of the Year Award

Jimmy’s Cambridge Shortlisted for Prestigious Innovator of the Year Award for Groundbreaking Trauma Support Programme

Jimmy’s Cambridge is honoured and thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Housing Heroes and Women in Housing Awards 2025 in the category of Innovator of the Year. This recognition celebrates the pioneering work we’ve undertaken in bringing Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) into the housing and homelessness sector—a first-of-its-kind initiative in this field.

Developed in partnership with Cambridge City Council, our trauma-informed peer support programme represents a significant step forward in supporting those working on the frontlines of homelessness. The TRiM model, originally designed by the UK military, has been adapted by Jimmy’s to suit the unique challenges faced by staff and volunteers in housing services—providing a structured and compassionate approach to identifying and addressing psychological risk following traumatic incidents.

This project was born out of a deep understanding that those supporting vulnerable individuals often carry the emotional weight of their work, and need tailored support themselves. Our team has worked tirelessly to adapt and deliver TRiM training, fostering a culture of resilience, openness, and peer-led wellbeing within the housing sector.

Let’s keep pushing boundaries, breaking stigma, and building a more trauma-informed future for all.
