At Jimmy’s, we’re proud to be registered with the Fundraising Regulator — a mark of our commitment to ethical and responsible fundraising.
By displaying the Fundraising Regulator badge, we’re showing our promise to you, our supporters, that we will always treat your generosity with the respect and care it deserves.
Here’s what that promise means:
We commit to high standards
- We follow the standards set out in the Code of Fundraising Practice.
- We monitor the work of all staff, volunteers, and third parties who raise funds on our behalf to ensure they also follow the Code.
- We comply with all laws relevant to charity fundraising.
- We proudly display the Fundraising Regulator badge on our fundraising materials to demonstrate our commitment to best practice.
We will be clear, honest and open
- We will always tell the truth and never exaggerate.
- We will clearly explain how donations are used and keep our promises.
- We will be transparent about who we are and what we do.
- We will clearly explain how you can make a donation, change a regular gift, or stop giving altogether.
- When we work with a third party to raise funds, we will make the relationship and any financial arrangement clear.
- We can explain our fundraising costs and how they benefit our cause.
- Our complaints process is clear and accessible, and we will respond to any concerns with evidence-based reasons.
We will be respectful
- We will respect your privacy and communication preferences.
- We will never pressure you to donate. If you choose not to give, or decide to stop giving, we will respect your decision.
- We have a procedure for supporting people in vulnerable circumstances — available on request.
- Where required by law, we will seek your permission before contacting you.
- We work with the Telephone Preference Service, Mail Preference Service, and Fundraising Preference Service to ensure we do not contact people who have opted out of specific communication types.
We will be fair and reasonable
- We will treat all donors and members of the public fairly and sensitively.
- We will consider individual needs and circumstances in our approach.
- We will never use words or images designed to cause distress or anxiety.
- We will avoid causing any nuisance or disruption through our fundraising efforts.
We will be accountable and responsible
- We will manage our resources carefully and consider the wider impact of our fundraising on the public and our supporters.
- If you are ever unhappy with something we’ve done, we welcome your feedback and take it seriously.
- Our complaints procedure is available on our website or by request.
- If you are not satisfied with our response to a complaint, we will explain how you can contact the Fundraising Regulator.
- We keep a record of all complaints we receive and share this data with the Fundraising Regulator when requested.
Thank you for placing your trust in Jimmy’s. Your support enables us to continue standing alongside people experiencing homelessness in Cambridge — and we are committed to earning that trust every day.
