Opening of new Multiple Needs Service

On Tuesday 30th August 2022 the Mayor of Cambridge opened our new Multiple Needs Service.

This new service will provide long-term (up to two years) accommodation and intensive, bespoke support for up to 9 people. This will allow Jimmy’s to provide significant one to one, on-site, daily support for individuals with multiple needs (such as those experiencing mental-ill health and addiction – ‘dual-diagnosis’).

Its development has stemmed from Jimmy’s considerable experience and understanding that individuals with multiple needs are often those that are unable to access statutory support due to the complexity of their situations. This new service will be a lifeline for them in rebuilding their lives and starting their journey to independent living.

Support workers will build holistic relationships with the residents and seek to get to know them beyond their support needs, by hosting a number of weekly activities such as music therapy, acupuncture, chess etc.

Our in-house support will be supplemented with the help of our day service, which will host regular drop-ins from other agencies to provide support with physical health, mental health, substance use and much more.
