Night Support Worker

Jimmy’s is looking for a Night Support Worker to join our team at East Road, our 25-bed hostel supporting people who have experienced homelessness and may have complex and enduring needs, including around mental health and substance misuse.
Working as part of a dedicated night team, you’ll help create a safe, calm and welcoming environment for our residents. You’ll build positive relationships, provide emotional support, respond to crises and incidents, complete welfare and security checks, and ensure residents have access to appropriate support when they need it.
This is an active support role — our residents are awake and engaging throughout the night, meaning your shift can be a valuable opportunity to listen, build trust and provide meaningful support. No two nights are the same.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working or volunteering with vulnerable adults, or a good understanding gained through life experience
- Understands the impact of homelessness, mental health and substance misuse
- Is calm, compassionate and non-judgemental
- Can manage challenging situations using a non-confrontational approach
- Builds positive relationships and communicates clearly
- Is dependable, professional and committed to maintaining boundaries
- Shares Jimmy’s values of respect, acceptance, opportunity and integrity
The role involves waking night shifts from 10pm–7:30am, across a 7-day rota.
