Cambridge Building Society chooses Jimmy’s as Charity of the Year

We are thrilled to have been chosen by employees of The Cambridge Building Society as their Charity of the Year for 2023.

On Monday 24th April Communities Officer Barry Griffiths and Communications Manager, Cat Strawbridge were delighted to attend The Cambridge Building Society’s AGM and be presented with a cheque for £1,150.00 to celebrate the start of the partnership.

Andrew Colbran has also raised £850 by running the recent London Marathon, which will be matched by The Cambridge Building Society.

The Cambridge’s CEO, Peter Burrows, said: “There was overwhelming support in favour of Jimmy’s, which as a housing-based charity, is a cause very close to all our hearts.

“I am inspired to see the efforts our people go to in raising funds for charities, especially in these challenging times, and I’m delighted that as an organisation we can match those funds to double the support we can offer.

“I know that everyone is very much looking forward to putting their charity day to good use this year and seeing how much money we can donate to a good cause.”

Community Engagement Officer at Jimmy’s, Barry Griffiths, said: “We are tremendously grateful to The Cambridge for supporting us in the work we do to aid rough sleeping in Cambridge”.

We are really looking forward to working with The Cambridge Building Society throughout the rest of 2023.
