East Road - Emergency Accommodation

Providing short-term, emergency accommodation for adult men and women who might otherwise find themselves sleeping rough on the streets of Cambridge or vulnerably housed. The "Assessment Centre" offers far more than a bed for the night.

Here you’ll have access to:

  • A resettlement and re-connection service to work with you to find a more suitable place to live long-term.
  • En-suite rooms, laundry facilities, freshly prepared daily meals.

More than a bed for the night

  • Range of activities including sports, leisure and creative workshops.
  • Sessions to help you build upon your basic skills such as budgeting, cooking, dealing with the authorities, IT, managing debt and living independently
  • Signposting to external, specialist agencies and services in the area and support & advocacy for when you attend appointments.

Ongoing support

  • Staff who specialise in counselling, promoting physical well-being, dealing with alcohol & substance misuse, mental health issues, and supporting ex-service personnel.
  • Wi-fi and computers to help you with resources, research and to keep in contact with friends and family.
  • The support of over 200 volunteers from the community who work with us to ensure you get the most from your stay

It’s all designed to give you the best possible chance of moving on.
