Every donation we receive goes directly to the people we support. Here’s what that looks like in reality.
When someone arrives at Jimmy’s for the first time, they often arrive with very little. A welcome pack – funded by a donation of just £10 – means that from day one, a new resident has the essentials they need to feel at home. It’s a small gesture, but one that is fundamental in ensuring all of our residents feel welcome and comfortable. Additionally, they will be met by a friendly face who will put them at ease and instantly part of our little community.

For those who need more intensive support, we provide one-to-one sessions tailored to each resident’s circumstances. An hour of that support costs £75. In that hour, a resident can work with a professional and begin to figure out the next step – whether that’s accessing services, rebuilding confidence, or simply having the time and space to be heard by someone who is fully focused on them, and to know that they are not alone.
Why your donations matter
These are just two examples of what your generosity makes possible. The reality is that every part of what we do – from the roof over someone’s head to the support worker walking alongside them – is sustained by people who choose to give. Behind every donation, whether given once or regularly, is a person in Cambridge whose life is being shaped by your support. At Jimmy’s, we talk about taking people from Street to Front Door. Your donations are what make that journey possible – and what make it sustainable for the people who need it most.
If you’d like to find out more about the impact of your giving, or to share this with someone who might like to support our work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
