Jimmy’s Cambridge Highly Commended in First Ever Big Give Campaign

We’re delighted to share some great news — Jimmy’s Cambridge has been Highly Commended in the 2025 Big Give Christmas Campaign Awards.

This recognition follows our first-ever Big Give Christmas Challenge, which exceeded its £35,000 target in under 48 hours and went on to raise more than £45,000 to support people experiencing homelessness in Cambridge.

Why this matters

The Big Give Christmas Challenge provided vital unrestricted funding, allowing us to respond flexibly to the growing demand for homelessness services in Cambridge. Funds raised through the campaign are helping us provide safe accommodation, meals, mental health support and tailored, wrap-around support to help people move away from rough sleeping and towards a safe place to call home.

The campaign also helped us reach many new supporters, strengthening our community at a time when homelessness in Cambridge continues to rise.

The power of match funding and collaboration

Match funding played a crucial role in the campaign’s success. We are incredibly grateful to our Champion Pledger, The Julia Rausing Trust, whose support doubled the impact of public donations.

We’d also like to thank Kier Construction, who generously offered their graphic design expertise through the Cambridgeshire County Council / Match My Project collaboration, supporting our awards submission. This kind of cross-organisational working makes a real difference for charities like Jimmy’s.

Looking ahead to the Big Give 2026

Being Highly Commended is a real boost for our team and a strong vote of confidence as we begin planning our Big Give Christmas Challenge 2026. After such a positive first year, we’re excited to build on this success and grow our impact even further.

Thank you to everyone who supported our first Big Give campaign — we couldn’t have done it without you. 💛
