Jimmy’s is delighted to announce that they will be visited by HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the 28th November. The visit – the couple’s first joint visit to Cambridge – will culminate with a plaque unveiling to officially open Jimmy’s new centre.
During the visit, the Duke and Duchess will meet guests, volunteers and staff, and sample some of the activities that, alongside support and resettlement, Jimmy’s has on offer to its guests. These include healthy eating, baking, arts and crafts, creative writing and a service user feedback group.
Three of the guests are lucky enough to be chosen to meet privately with the couple away from the glare of the media. This will enable to discuss some of their personal stories in more depth.
The plaque to be unveiled has been created for Jimmy’s by the Cardozo Kindersley workshop in Cambridge. Once this has been unveiled, former guest, Twigg, will present the couple with one of his artworks painted specially for the occasion.
